Fiktion in America I:
THE WORD ELECTRIC WORKSHOP

Goethe-Institute New York, 2-7 pm

On October 25 2014 Fiktion and Goethe-Institut New York are organizing The Word Electric, a workshop exploring new ways of digital publishing. At The Word Electric, Fiktion will convene with a range of New York-based organizations, projects, and collectives that publish and review digital literature outside the purview of the dominant corporate players. The Word Electric will provide an opportunity to exchange ideas and present them to the public.

Opening with a keynote from media theorist Boris Groys with the title “Private is Global: Writing in the Internet,” speakers will include Paul Chan (Badlands Unlimited), Stephen Elliott (The Rumpus), Christopher Glazek (Genius), Kenneth Goldsmith (UbuWeb), Henriette Gallus (Fiktion), Spencer Madsen (Sorry House), Ingo Niermann (Fiktion), John Oakes (OR Books), Karen Phillips (Words Without Borders), and Emily Segal (K-Hole).
